Healthy Food Vending Machines by Marriott
Marriott Hotels has launched quite an unusual new program – the famous hotelier now offers healthy food not only in its restaurants and bars, but also through special vending machines! These machines debuted in the US, but the company plans to use them in different locations if this type of food distribution gets positive feedback.
New vending machines are located in the lobby and offer various salads and sandwiches. The concept was inspired by Anjana Kallarackal, who participated with this idea in another campaign by Marriott – Travel Brilliantly.
The new machine was developed together with Farmer’s Fridge, Chicago-based company specializing in organic and healthy food. During next five months, guests of local Marriott hotel will be able to sample food from the new machine. Items are added to the machine daily and are prepared by Farmer’s Fridge. The price ranges from US$3 to US$12 and includes Detox Salad, a popular dish that is often referred to as “Junk Food Eraser” consisting of organic fennel, kale, quinoa, beans and fruits dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. One more dish available currently is Lemon Pepper Chicken that is made from chicken breast (antibiotic-free chicken), extra-virgin olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Travellbrilliantly.com is a project by Marriott, where visitors can leave their ideas that can improve travelling experience. The project is on around one year, but over 2,500 ideas have been submitted to it already.
