Modern travellers really have many options when choosing a hotel to stay in. They can pick up an ultra-modern hotel with design that is in line with latest trends in the industry. It is also possible to book a room in a hotel that features authentic retro style. For example, in the Peninsula Paris renovation works lasted so long because they were super careful and every detail was made in accordance with the style of that age and its original look. However, there is still balance between modern and retro, and guests will certainly find it in Palazzo Avino hotel in Ravello, Italy.
Renovation of this hotel was quite a challenge for Mariella Avino, owner and managing director of the landmark property. The hotel is located in the 12th century building with 32 guestrooms and 11 suites. Mariella herself wanted to keep the original atmosphere of the hotel and make it a perfect home for guests and a collection of antique pieces that can be found throughout the hotel. To maintain luxurious status of the hotel, only finest materials, such as Hermes textiles and Vietri tiles were used in renovation. They were coupled with antique furniture and carpets to create an unforgettable design of the property.
Mariella worked together with her mother over the design. The women chose deep and light blue shades because they reflect colour of the sky and the sea. Guests can already enjoy new guestrooms, and renewed outdoor spaces will be available next year.
