Digital Check-in in Accor Hotels
These days many hotel companies try to serve their guests faster with the help of various digital services, and Accor is no exception. Recently, the company announced the new digital guest-welcome program that is available for customers, who book rooms directly from the hotelier, loyalty program members and subscription card holders. All these categories of guests will be offered to check-in online using Accor’s digital system two days before their actual hotel stay.
When the day of arrival comes, guests will receive a confirmation message sent via SMS. The message proves that the room and key are ready and also provides some valuable information about the trip (car park access code, transportation directions to the hotel, and more). More than 90% of guests, who had tried the new system, left positive feedback and said they would like to use the system in future.
At the first stage of the project the system was tested in 20 hotels across Europe (hotels in the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy). Currently, the system is installed in 60 hotels in 13 countries. In future, Accor wants to spread the system to 1000 hotels by the end of this year, thus covering almost 30% of its network. The hotelier pays particular attention to Brazil and wants to offer the service almost in every hotel by Accor in the cities that will host World Cup matches.
