Portuguese 5-star hotel-palace Vidago Palace, which is known as the “diamond” among other historical hotels in Europe, celebrates its 100th birthday. The hotel is located just one hour away from Porto city and 450 km away from Lisbon. This architectural masterpiece, surrounded by parks and a wood, was built in 1910.
In order to celebrate the anniversary in full glory, the hotel has been completely renewed. All reconstruction works lasted 4 years. Now Vidago Palace hotel in Portugal is a magnificent example of Belle Époque style. The palace has 70 rooms that come in different categories – Garden, Superior, Deluxe, Privilege, Junior Suites and Suites.
During the reconstruction have been renewed the main building, the Club House and the Spa center that has also been enlarged. The renovation project has been created by the famous Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza Vieira.
Now all guests of Vidago Palace hotel can enjoy food in 5 top quality restaurants and 4 bars. To the service of guests are Mediterranean and Portuguese cuisine, and a wine cellar with wide selection of drinks from world’s best wine manufacturers. Business meetings or other events can be held in a special meeting place that includes a conference hall, 9 rooms for negotiations and a huge auditorium for 264 people. Guests, who prefer active rest, may like an original golf field that has been constructed in 1936 by Kenji Ross. Later it was redesigned by Cameron & Powell and turned into 18-hole golf field.
