Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has signed a management contract with Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani & Sons Holding Company. According to the agreement the hotelier will manage 2 properties located in Doha, Qatar. These will be Shangri-La Hotel in Doha and Traders Hotel Doha. Both properties are expected to start operating in 2013. The opening of these hotels is a part of a large-scale plan concerning the opening of Shangri-La hotels in the Middle East. Other properties in the region include Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai opened in 2003, Traders Hotel in Dubai (2004), Shangri-La Barr Al Jissan hotel in Muscat (was opened in 2006), Qaryat Al Beri hotel in Abu Dhabi (started working in 2007), and, finally, Traders Hotel in Abu Dhabi (2009).
Both hotels in Doha will be high quality accommodations with beneficial location in the center of the Doha’s business part of the city. Shangri-La hotel in Doha will have 272 guestrooms and 46 suites. The hotel’s rooms will be large and luxuriously decorated. Apart from rooms and suites Shangri-La hotel will have 42 serviced apartments. Among the dining facilities present on the territory of the hotel will be Fuego (Latin American cuisine restaurant), The Den (piano bar), Shanghai Club (Chinese cuisine restaurant), Sridan (Middle East cuisine), and Yabby (seafood restaurant). The hotel will also be equipped with various business facilities. Traders Hotel Doha will have 238 guestrooms, 44 suites, and 84 services apartments.
