We often select hotels on the basis of reviews and feedbacks made by other people. Hoteliers also want to have the same experience and Guestscan Ltd. offers this opportunity to them! Now with the help of this UK-based organization hoteliers can share their opinion concerning particular guests.
Guestscan provides a database for all hotels in England just for £48 a year. The database contains the names of nonpaying and unruly visitors. This database can be easily incorporated into a booking system of a hotel and once the person from the “black list” makes a reservation at the hotel, its management will be automatically alerted. Guestscan representatives mention a hotel’s visitor that is nonplaying or does something wrong is most likely to repeat this in future. This may be not a big problem for large hotels, but smaller hoteliers are absolutely not protected.
The database will be maintained by the hoteliers themselves. In order to blacklist the visitor, the hotel must undergo a verification process and present evidences. The guests will be blacklisted for the period from 2 to 4 years. The “offences”, that may cause the blacklisting, are damage of hotel’s property, nonpayment, theft or abusive behavior.
Guestscan Ltd. is a newly formed organization, but it already has over 10 000 hotels in UK participating by the end of this year. Currently the database covers UK hotels only, but the company plans to cover other countries of Europe and North America in future.
