40 hotels are expected to join Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in coming years
The Hong Kong hotel chain Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has currently about 40 projects under development worldwide. These projects will join the portfolio of 68 already operational hotels, which offer nearly 30000 rooms in total.
In the near future the hotel group, working with two brands - Shangri-La and Traders, plans to open new hotels in Austria, Canada, China, France, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Mongolia, Russia, Qatar, Seychelles, Turkey and the UK.
There will be three new hotels in Europe - in Paris (scheduled to open later this year), in Vienna (2011) and a hotel in London (2012).
The group also announced its three upcoming discoveries - three new hotels in China. They are scheduled to open in 2013 in the important coastal cities - Kinhuangdao, Tianjin and Tangshan. The first hotel will feature 320 rooms, the second - 535 and the third one - 370 rooms.
