In 2011, Yotel will open an unusual type of hotel in New York. With its 669 small-size capsule rooms, the hotel is intended for tourists who do not care much about space. Actually, the capsules are a little larger than what can make an ordinary person claustrophobic. Considering the hotel’s location in the vicinity of Times Square, the price of $150-180 per stay is not bad at all.
Each room will feature relaxing and soothing purple lighting, wi-fi, and a flat-screen TV. Customers will enjoy luxurious bedroom kits and an opportunity to visit a hotel restaurant, bar and more. Business trip groups will enjoy a chance to meet in a conference room.
Currently, Yotel maintains similar capsule rooms in numerous international airports, including hotels in Heathrow and Gatwick, Great Britain, and in Shirpool, Holland.
Capsule hotel rooms enjoy popularity among tourists seeking a brief stay during their transfer flights without leaving the airport. Another Yotel is waiting to open in one of New York’s airports, and a few separate capsules are soon to be found in the downtown area.
