Movenpick Hotel Saigon's fifteen-million dollar reconstruction is coming to a close, and the hotel in Ho Chi Minh City is planned to open on August 1, 2010.
The hotel has been closed since March 8, 2010. Hotel management is using the remaining time for recruiting new staff and teaching hotel business basics.
'Our goal is to set a new starting point for Vietnam's hospitality business. We agree that things will change dramatically, but this is not about the aesthetics. We are going to preserve our sincere adherence to high quality service,' said Knut Kiefer, general manager for the Movenpick hotels in Vietnam.
Here are the following changes to take place in the hotel's service: none of the 278 guestrooms will be like those stereotyped standard city hotel rooms with an emphasis on space, lighting, functionality, comfort and luxury. These are going to be rooms combining contemporary design and technical solutions with maximum comfort.
All five restaurants will receive new menus and new interiors. Some of them, like the Japanese IKI restaurant, is going to be something Hoshimin has never seen before.
