Hyatt Hotels Corporation is strengthening its presence in India, expanding into several new markets, which include Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, and more, over the next five years. Slated to open in 2010 are Hyatt Regency Chennai, Hyatt Regency Puneand Grand Hyatt Goa. Today, it’s about 30 years since the company opened its first hotel in India.
Hyatt Regency Chennai is a 329-room modern-style hotel features luxury guestrooms and numerous dining facilities, fitness center, swimming area, conference rooms and more. Hyatt Regency Pune is a 306-room hotel intended for long-term guests, as it features upscale rooms and suits and numerous leisure facilities. Both hotels are located close to the central business district. Grand Hyatt Goa, a 314-room property, is part of Aldeia de Goa residential area located close to Dona Paula, near the Zuari River.
Hayatt has chosen to invest in India, one of the world’s largest emerging economies, where it promotes Hyatt Place, its upscale select service brand. Acording to Mark Hoplamazian, Hayatt Hotels Corporation President and Chief Executive, the company is concentrating about one fourth of its pipeline in India. Over the next few years, the company will expand to some smaller cities, where tourist industry is budding.
