Burkina Faso is considered one of the richest countries in Africa. This resort attracts travellers by its exotic nature, but this is not the only one that’s worth seeing here as there are several very interesting excursion routes in Burkina Faso.
The National Museum is the most modern and popular cultural facility. It is still in the development process, but many halls of the museum already accept visitors. Here you will see a collection of masks and traditional costumes of local people, hand-made dishes and sets of ritual artifacts.
Among religious monuments we should definitely mention the Cathedral – the most large-scale building in whole West Africa. Tourists, who are keen on shopping, should definitely go to the Large Market Ouagadougou. It’s so big that you will need several days to see it all. The market opened several centuries ago, so today it keeps the atmosphere of those old days even today.
There are several districts in Burkina Faso. Each of them has its own appeal. For example, there is a huge mosque in Bobo Dioulasso district. Nearby is located the district specializing in hand crafts – Kibidvi. Banfora district is the smallest one as it consists of just two streets. However, it is still known as an important tourist point of destination, because from Banfora usually start excursions to Cascades de Karfiguéla, a real wonder of nature. When you look at high rocky cliffs and enjoy peaceful sound of falling water, continue your walk by going to Tegreakute Lake. Hospitable local citizens will gladly rent you a fishing boat and everything else needed for fishing. Also this story will be incomplete without mentioning Vahiguya – a popular region that is known as a center of pilgrimage. On its territory is located one of oldest and most beautiful mosques.
