The Harrell House Bug Museum is a beautiful cultural center of the city whose collection will impress not only lovers of arthropods and insect. Visitors of the museum can hold many of them in their hands. One of Santa Fe’s most interesting places is the open-air museum, which for centuries demonstrates the local people’s traditional way of life. We are talking about the El Rancho de las Golondrinas, on the territory of which you will find craft buildings, and learn about their work: a forge, a mill, and a bakery. Excellent addition to the local pastime will be the beautiful costume shows of the Civil War period in the U.S.A, as well as thematic events that are held in the “park of living history” quite often.
Not far from New Mexico’s capital is the city Pojoaque, whose main value is considered to be the Poeh Cultural Center Museum – the entire state’s “hidden treasure”, offering true acquaintance with the culture of the Indian people of the Pueblo group. The center’s uniqueness lies in the fact that small figurines by the sculptor Roxanne Swentzell show scenes from the important aspect of the life of the Indians – traditional crafts like fishing, hunting, weaving. Beautiful Indian homes with wall paintings by Marcellus Medina are also on display. The houses’ peculiarity is that they are arranged in different ways in different seasons. You can also discover an original cinema hall inside the cultural center and you can visit the museum free of charge.
