No less interesting is the Staatliches Museum Natur und Mensch displaying a lot of amazing exhibits. The main part of its collection acquaints visitors with the nature of Lower Saxony. Among the most unusual exhibits is a huge piece of peat bog. During the development of one of the local peat deposits, researchers discovered organic inclusions dating back to prehistoric times. The piece presented in the museum demonstrates fragments of skeletons that belong to animals that inhabited our planet thousands of years ago. This museum will be an interesting place for families, as it often conducts fascinating tours for children.
A regular city walk can turn into an exciting tour too. In the streets, you can see well-preserved buildings of various periods at every corner. A striking architectural monument is the old Town Hall building Oldenburg Rathaus attractive with its richly decorated facade. Many beautiful historic buildings are concentrated around the old Market Square. Here you can find one of Olderburg's main religious symbols - St. Lambert's Church. It is a vivid Gothic monument that has remained virtually unchanged since its construction. The newest fragment of the building is its neo-Gothic rotunda erected during the last major reconstruction.
