Some time later, the building became the residence of heirs to the throne, and it got the unofficial name “prince’s palace”. The palace was completely destroyed because of the war in 1945, and the beautiful building remained in ruins until 1993. Advanta Company decided to start rebuilding of the palace and tried to retain its original look as much as possible. When the rebuilding works were over, the magnificent Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Hotel was opened in Dresden in 1995.
