The historic center of Lyon is a cultural object of world scale; monuments of the Roman Empire have survived on its territory. The most attractive places to walk are Presqu'ile, Croix-Rousse and Vieux Lyon. Beautiful historic buildings situated in them are simply amazing. In Vieux Lyon you can see priceless architectural monuments of the Renaissance. Today, many historic buildings house elite restaurants, shops and art galleries that will make a walk even more interesting.
Lots of interesting sights can be found in the old town of Perouges; numerous craft shops represent one of its main distinguishing features. The excursion program has to include a visit to one of the local shops, as it will give no less impression than any museum.
Vienne is rich in historical monuments too; there are also the ruins of the buildings dating back to the Roman Empire. Among other notable objects, beautiful medieval churches that became a place of storage of priceless art exhibits and religious artifacts, are worth mentioning.
The world-famous Beaujolais Wine Road attracts not only fans of fine French wine, but also fans of excursion tourism. This popular tourist route covers very interesting towns and villages; within each of which there is certainly an interesting place to hike. The main symbol of Annecy is its beautiful castle constructed in the 12th century. This picturesque town is often called the ‘Venice of the Alps,’ as there are picturesque narrow streets and a huge number of channels. It’s an ideal place for walks.
