As the COVID-19 outbreak is nearing its end in many countries, their governments let people and companies return to normal life with some limitations. Starting from May 17, Thailand began to ease the quarantine measures. The country succeeded in flattening the curve and registered only 3,028 confirmed cases of the disease. WHO praised Thailand for its efforts and efficient work of the country’s health system.
Numerous international travelers are also glad to hear the news as Thailand is an important business and leisure travel destination. Bangkok is widely recognized as the most-visited city in the world, so hotels in Bangkok always greet new customers, and hotels in Koh Samui and Pattaya are renowned as a popular choice for a beach vacation. After almost two months of closure, such popular shopping malls and department stores in Bangkok as Siam Paragon, EmQuartier, and Emporium finally opened their doors last week.
Companies had to prepare for the “new normal” and upgraded safety measures. This is essential to keep both clients and staff safe and healthy. Emporium’s CEO mentioned that they felt a strong sense of responsibility and implemented a range of precautions to ensure safe shopping. They include UV sanitization, registration, and touchless shopping.
To avoid overcrowding in public spaces, the government of Thailand made an application and an online platform called Thai Chana, which can be translated as “Thailand Wins”. This application allows people to visit public areas or shop after a special registration. A live monitoring system ensures that no social distancing rules are broken and that there are no crowded areas. The system allows a distance of 1 person per 5 square meters.
Employees are checked on a daily basis. People who contract with customers are obliged to use face masks and shields. All guard shields are regularly sanitized. All shoppers need to have their temperature checked and sanitize their hands before they can enter. After that, all visitors get disposable plastic gloves. To make sure that shopping bags have no virus particles, the bags are also sanitized using UV machines. These measures are important until the world completely stops the coronavirus pandemic. Until that time, both locals and travelers will have to deal with certain limitations that stop the spread of the diseases.
