Many countries in the world steadily return to their normal lifestyle and ease travel restrictions. China was among the first countries to reopen its borders and allow tourism. However, as the coronavirus is not completely defeated yet, companies need to impose new safety rules. The Hospitality industry is no exception. Hotels in Macao, a popular Chinese resort destination, introduce new cleaning and disinfection programs that provide safety for both guests and hotel staff.
Last week, Sands Resorts Macao launched Sands SafeStay. The main goal of this program is to make sure that tourists stay healthy from the moment of check-in and until their check-out and departure. The initiative covers Sands® Cotai Central, The Venetian® Macao, Sands® Macao, and The Parisian Macao. Sands SafeStay focuses on the three key areas, namely, sanitization, contactless services, and prevention. The program includes a series of protocols for the staff. It was developed by the hotel company together with the Macao Health Bureau, Macao government, and in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
Tourists in search of a quality hotel in Macao with proper sanitization will like the new 360-degree sanitization adopted at Sands Resorts. Using the hospital grade sanitizers provided by Diversey and Ecolab, the hotel’s special disinfection teams sanitize all public spaces, restaurants, bars, casinos, guest rooms, meeting space, and shopping malls. The frequency of disinfection has been increased too. All key cards of roughly 12,500 rooms undergo sterilization before use.
Social distancing is the new norm nowadays, and Sands Resorts Macao embraces this important preventive measure. All guests have to stay at least one meter from each other in public areas, queues, elevators, and so on. The company’s casinos in Macao were also rearranged. Now, all slot machines and gambling tables stand at a distance, ensuring space between guests. The resort’s staff wears virus preventing equipment such as face masks.
Sands Resort in Macao is famous for its spectacular recreational areas such as gondola rides, the Eiffel Tower, Qube, and fabulous swimming pools. To prevent the virus spread, the capacity of all venues was reduced drastically. Finally, contactless payments, express check-in, and e-tickets to attractions are an effective measure to reduce contact with the potentially contaminated surfaces.
