The Biggest Comfort Hotel in the World Opens in Stockholm
Nordic Choice Hotels has just opened the biggest hotel under its Comfort brand. This is a hotel in Stockholm, in the city’s Arlanda Airport to be precise. The hotelier doesn’t open many Comfort hotels; this is, actually, one of the few franchised properties that Nordic Choice plans to open over the next three years. The new Stockholm airport hotel has 503 rooms and is located between terminals 4 and 5. It takes only a couple of minutes on foot to reach the international terminal from this hotel. The train station is also not far away.
Comfort hotels are a select-service brand that strives to be environmentally conscious and offer more than many hotels provide their guests with. Comfort hotels tend to operate in busy and central locations. They offer amenities for quality sleep and try to remain price competitive. The brand’s name – Comfort – precisely describes the main mission of hotels operating under it. Comfort on all levels means not only comfortable rooms but also easy booking and checking in. Everything is hassle-free: simply book a room using the company’s website or app and then use a self-service station to check-in and out. Moreover, guests can use their smartphones as door keys.
The hotel in Stockholm focuses on reducing waste. For this purpose, it has taken a number of steps such as smaller plates with food, using MSC labeled fish, and processing fruits and berries to smoothies. Besides that, palm oil and beef are banned in the hotel. The hotel uses no disposable plastic and tries to reduce its waste to only 1% of everything consumed.
In the lobby of the Stockholm airport’s hotel, guests will find Barception, a bar and snack station with food and drinks that is open 24/7. This area is perfectly suitable for working solo and in a group. It is even possible to make small meetings at Barception. Customers requiring a separate working area and large workgroups can always book one of the four meeting rooms that are available from one hour to the entire day.
On the twelfth floor of the hotel, there is Anorak Bar that is suitable for events and private meetings. Finally, the rooftop bar doesn’t have a selection of food but offers simpler snacks and various drinks. The hotel has a complete gym with a training program. Nordic Choice Hotels plans to open Comfort hotels in other European airports. On August 1, 2020, the Comfort hotel in Copenhagen Airport will greet its first guests. The Comfort hotel in Helsinki Airport Vantaa is set to open in 2023.
