As part of the plan to create the 'Moscovia' family resort area in Dmitrovsk district, nearby Moscow, Safari Park Podosinki group plans to create the first safari park in Russia. Valery Shachnazarov - general manager of Safari Park Podosinki – in his Friday report to RIA News said that the resort would occupy a 300-hectare spot 34 km away from Moscow.
'The site is owned by our company, and it is located just 2 km away from Morozki station of Savyolovskaya Railroad', he noted. He also announced the plans to build a Loona Park, water park with a diving center and spa hotel that will be run by Chinese specialists. There will also be an orthodox boarding school, a sport camp for kids, a town of crafts – an old-Russia style craft-and-shopping street and Goodwill City entertainment center with a golf course, tennis court, extreme park and a paintball range.
The 100-hectare safari park, Mr. Shachnazarov noted, will be the heart of the entire complex and it will comprise 1,200 to 1,400 animals.
At the same time, Valery Shacknazarov confessed, the realization of these plans is postponed indefinitely. According to the agreement with Eximbank, it will credit the project on condition that one of Russian banks will accept guarantee obligations. So far, none of the Russian banks has shown commitment to the project.
