Fans of art, who are planning to visit Turkey in the coming months, will be glad to hear that the Arkas Art Center in Izmir organized an exhibition dedicated to works of Pablo Picasso. Named the “Picasso: The Art of Spectacle”, this exhibition is a part of a large project, Picasso-Méditerranée, that includes numerous exhibitions and installations in different countries.
This is definitely a good reason to book a hotel in Izmir and visit this gorgeous city. The exhibition brings together 83 works from different European museums and organizations, namely, the Paris Picasso Museum, Opera Garnier, Foundation Julio Gonzalez, and the Kontaxopoulos-Prokopchuk Collection in Brussels. It contains not only paintings but also sketches, drawings, sculptures, costumes, films, and studies about the famous artist. All fans of his works are welcome to attend the exhibition and admire the versatile art of Picasso that in many ways shaped modern art.
Picasso found inspiration in different spectacles, such as theater, corrida, and dance. He even often made himself an art object. The exhibition covers all these aspects of his works and studies them with great detail. A part of the exhibition is dedicated to relations of Pablo Picasso with other poets, musicians, artists, actors, and writers. The so-called “Picasso’s galaxy” made him one of the most influential figures on the art scene of his days.
The new exhibition in Izmir, which is a part of the global Picasso-Méditerranée program, will be open until January 5, 2020. It is curated by Jean Luc Maeso together with Müjde Unustası. Of course, it wouldn’t be possible without the Musée National Picasso-Paris. Arkas Art Center was established thanks to the support of Arkas Holding. As the main aim of the center is to share their passion and interest in art with art connoisseurs, it is absolutely free to visit the Picasso exhibition.
