Hilton has recently launched its new hotel brand in the luxury category LXR Hotels. Currently, there are no properties operating under this brand in Europe but everything will change already this spring. This is the time when the Biltmore hotel in Mayfair, London, will reopen under the LXR Hotels & Resorts brand. The internationally famous hotelier has already reached an agreement with Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.
It was not a simple task to choose a hotel for the debut of the new brand in Europe. Perhaps, Hilton couldn’t find a better candidate than the iconic hotel on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair. After the rebranding in spring 2019, the Biltmore hotel in London will slightly change its name to The Biltmore, Mayfair LXR Hotels & Resorts. In order to prepare the hotel, the Biltmore was closed for redevelopment in July 2018. The multi-million-pound redesign touches both rooms and public places of the new luxurious hotel. When The Biltmore reopens, it will have 257 posh rooms, most of which will offer fabulous views of Grosvenor Square. Besides that, there will be 51 curated suites. The suites will feature the design tied to the past of the building and reminding of the time when Biltmore was one of the most elegant private residences in London.
Grosvenor Square has always been a favorite of the country’s aristocracy. Since the 18th century, it has been one of the most important centers of cultural life in London. Nowadays, the square enjoys simple access to Hyde Park and Green Park, exclusive boutiques of Bond Street, and numerous landmarks that the capital of the United Kingdom is famous for.
LXR is a brand new collection of independent hotels operating under the Hilton brand. In order to join the exclusive family of hotels, a hotel doesn’t only need to be a luxurious one. Hilton strives to add only best of the best to its LXR brand. These are hotels with their own character, distinctive features, and a personalized approach to each guest. Needless to say, it was a hard task to find a suitable hotel for the European debut. Last year, Hilton added a hotel in Dubai to LXR. This is a 234-room hotel at Habtoor Palace on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The new hotel will also feature exclusive dining concepts led by famous chefs. It is also reported that the hotel will have an exclusive cocktail bar, an alfresco terrace that will work all year round, and a large gymtech fitness suite. The Biltmore will be perfectly suited for large events as it will have a 500 sqm ballroom that can provide space for up to 700 guests. For smaller and more intimate events, there are Manhattan and Waterloo Suites that are suited for up to 100 visitors. Finally, the Kendal Suite is a great choice for meetings and small events with up to 25 guests.
