New Initiatives of W Hotels for LGBTQ Travelers

News W Hotels want to underline that they are glad to serve all travelers, so the hotelier decided to prepare a series of travel guides developed particularly for LGBTQ+ travelers from different parts of the world. These guides will emphasize unique qualities of each of the selected destinations and unleash little-known gems that are not yet widely discovered by many queer travelers. In addition to that, W Hotels will bring its popular QUEER ME OUT speaker series to six different hotels around the globe. This is an excellent opportunity to meet people real time and reach audiences.

With its new initiative, W Hotels want to underline once again the equality of all travelers and collaborate with communities to create aspiring content that will be helpful for LGBTQ+ travelers around the world. Just like all travelers in the world, LGBTQ+ travelers are eager to see new and interesting things, not only Pride festivals, and want to explore little-discovered things that are not mentioned in traditional guides. Many of them want not only to explore places and see landmarks but also get acquainted with local LGBTQ+ communities in each destination and learn more about their struggles and triumphs.

To meet that need, W Hotels partnered with Phillip Picardi from Conde Nast who prepares a series of online guides about select cities. All cities are explored and reviewed through a queer lens. The first guide is available on June 6, and more guides are to be added throughout the year. Travelers are also welcome to attend special meetings to see the dynamic guides and video diaries. The first meeting will be held at W Mexico City. Later, W-branded hotels in Istanbul, Atlanta, and the newly opened W Brisbane will host the meetings. During the first meeting in Mexico City, participants will learn more about the legalization of same-sex marriage. In Istanbul, attendees will explore the welcoming local LGBTQ+ community. In other cities, other bold personalities will provide visitors with interesting content and reveal useful information.

The hotelier hopes that these new destination guides that expand traditional on-paper descriptions will be useful for queer guests and will help them to broaden their horizons, break boundaries, and get inspired for their next travel. The QUEER ME OUT initiative has proven to be successful. The series of meetings held in the States attracted many interesting speakers, such as famous photographers and editors. The next meetings will take place in W hotel in Barcelona (June 27), W Hotel London Leicester Square (July 6), and W-branded hotel in Amsterdam (August 2).

The hotel company also offers special celebration packages for travelers who want to visit the London and Amsterdam Pride Parades. These packages include accommodation, access to the events, and meeting sessions with a costume designer who will help travelers to get dressed for the event.
