Hyatt Hotels Corp. has announced new additions to its portfolio in India. The internationally famous hotelier signed a management agreement concerning two new properties – Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi and Andaz hotel in Gurgaon. Together with these properties the total number of Hyatt-branded hotels in India under development reached 56 properties.
Andaz hotel in Gurgaon is to open in the end of 2014 and will have 275 guestrooms and 75 serviced apartments. Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi will open even later – in the beginning of 2017. The 250-guestroom accommodation will feature a beneficial location on Bolgatty Island on the eastern coast of Kerala.
During the remainder of 2012 Hyatt will open three more hotels in India. These will be the 204-guestroom Park Hyatt hotel in Chennai, the 117-guestroom Hyatt Place Pune hotel in Hinjewadi, and the 115-guestroom Hyatt Place hotel in Hampi.
As the portfolio of Hyatt in India grows, the company is currently seeking high-quality staff to enable future growth and development of the company in the country. Currently the total number of people working in Hyatt hotels in India is over 3,500. In the nearest future the estimated number of people working for Hyatt in the country will increase to over 7,000. In order to prepare staff for its hotels and provide guests with best service, the hotelier organizes various training and leadership programs.
