Novum Hospitality has announced the opening of its first Niu-branded hotel in Essen, Germany. The hotel, which has 146 guest rooms in three categories, features unique and clever design developed by the famed JOI-Design and a number of facilities for guests. First months after the opening, Novum offers a limited number of discounted room nights at the new hotel, so hurry up if you plan to visit Essen in the nearest future.
The Niu Cobbles is in line with the brand’s philosophy that includes an individual design of any property in line with the location. In case of Essen, that means reflecting the unique industrial part of the region and the city’s current position as a modern metropolis that is home to many famous organizations. Fantastic location on the bank of the River Ruhr also makes the city an ambient and charming place, so the hotel targets not only business but also leisure travelers. By the way, the name Cobbles is not random, it also hints us about the industrial heritage of this city. Many old German cities with coal mining history have cobbles as one of its symbols.
In their statement about the opening of the Niu Cobbles, Novum Hospitality has expressed their delight with the new hotel. They hope to set new standards in the midscale European sector and try to make a hotel that will be in touch with the city’s past and current cultural life. Relaxed, hospitable, and welcoming, the new Essen hotel is open to both residents and guests of the city.
The new hotel also offers support for some new technologies, such as self-check-in and check-out using the brand’s application that provides guests with a digital key. Guest rooms come with smart flat screens, numerous conveniently located sockets and USB ports, Bluetooth speakers, and fast Wi-Fi. There is even an Instagram wall in the lobby area. The design of public areas includes some industrial style elements and materials, such as wire mesh. Walls of the new hotel are a result of the collaboration of the Millerntor Gallery and Viva con Agua, and Björn Holzweg created unusual animal heads in the polygon style. Proceeds from the collaboration will go to water sanitation projects by Viva con Agua.
In total, Novum plans to open as many as forty hotels in different parts of Europe within just three years. Currently, the hotelier is particularly interested in bringing Niu hotels to the UK, the Netherlands, and the German-speaking countries. There is also ready a long list of hotels that are set to open in the nearest future, including the Niu Franz hotel in Vienna, Niu Saddle hotel in Furth, Niu Rick in Lubeck, and Niu Dairy hotel in Haarlem.
