Accor Uses Robot to Record Sleeping Habits of Ibis Guests
Accor has launched a Facebook promotion on its official Facebook page. The famous European hotelier has started a giveaway, offering free overnight stays. The trick is while you sleep, your sleeping patterns will be recorded by a special robot.
The contest is started on the Facebook page of Accor’s Ibis hotel brand. Participants can win absolutely free overnight stays in Ibis, Ibis Budget, and Ibis Styles hotels in Paris, London and Berlin. The free nights are offered for October and November.
The main aim of the giveaway is to draw pictures of sleeping patterns that will be then used in the new bedding concept by Accor named Sweet Bed by Ibis. Special beds will be equipped with 80 sensors built into the topper. The sensors are connected with a robot that records various data while guests sleep. These are body temperature, body movements and sounds made while sleeping. The robot interprets this information and paints an abstract picture on canvas.
The robots are made by BETC Digital and Acne (a Swedish robotics firm).
