If you are planning to make a vacation in Barcelona, but do not know what hotel to book, take a look at the recently reopened W Barcelona. During the multi-million euro renovation, all 473 guest rooms and suites of the hotel were remade. The renovation has also marked the launch of the first W Sound Suite in Europe. That is a special suite for musicians and writers, so it comes with a music studio and a choice of instruments. Currently, such W Sound Suites are available at four hotels around the world.
Initially opened in 2009, W Barcelona has quickly become famous for its innovative design. However, years later, it became obvious that the hotel needed a revamp. For this purpose, the W Hotels team partnered with Bowler James Brindley design studio from London. Their purpose was to retouch the hotel without ruining its atmosphere and image of an iconic destination. W Barcelona is widely recognized for the sail shape of the building and fantastic views of the seaside. The hotel was often chosen as a venue for various presentations, meetings, and other important events.
The designer team was inspired by the city and spectacular views from guest rooms and reflected them in the design of rooms. The main colors are blue, white, teal, and rose gold. Bed clothing includes pillows with images of iconic landmarks of Barcelona. Guest rooms now feature a range of new services, which including 49-inch TV, Nespresso coffee machines, tea makers, and Bose sound. For dining areas, the designers were inspired by the Spanish tapas culture, so the restaurant got small tables and chairs, and a modern lighting system that changes depending on the time of the day. The brand’s signature amenities, such as Bliss Spa, Whatever/Whenever service, W Bed, and free high-speed Wi-Fi are available at W Barcelona.
