Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts (MHR) announced the opening of a hotel apartment complex in Jeddah. The new complex appears at the right time as there is a shortage of branded hotels for long stay in Saudi Arabia. Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments Al Tahlia Jeddah will have 164 units and will be open next year. In order to make the plan work, Mövenpick partnered with famous real estate company Hadia Abdul Latif Jamel Group. The hotel will be a part of a mixed-use development that will include suites, several restaurants including an Indian restaurant and an all-day dining restaurant, a gym and a spa, and a business center with four meeting rooms.
The hotelier says that flexibility was one of their priorities when developing the hotel. It perfectly fits both short- and long-stay guests, which is particularly important for Jeddah, where it is not easy to find branded accommodation for extended stay. Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments Al Tahlia Jeddah will be not the first property managed by the hotelier in the city as the company successfully runs 2 hotels there. Three more hotels (with Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments Al Tahlia Jeddah included) are in the pipeline. When all these hotels are open in 2018, Mövenpick will have 923 guestrooms in the city. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently one of target markets for Mövenpick, and the company plans to expand its presence from current 10 hotels to 15.
