Dolce & Gabbana to Become a Hotelier

Famous Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana decided to step into hospitality industry and open their first hotel. This is not the first time when famous fashion designer brand decides to open a branded hotel, so Dolce & Gabbana will join the list of such acknowledged names as Giorgio Armani, Versace, Bulgari, Moschino and Missoni.

There is no official announcement yet, but Italian media pay close attention to the first hotel by Dolce & Gabbana. According to Italian news portal Il Sole 24 Ore, the first hotel by the famous fashion brand will be located in the Italian fashion capital, Milan. The Palazzo Broggi building on Piazza Cordusio will become home for the new hotel. The building was recently purchased by Chinese investment conglomerate Fosun for 345 million euro. The Chinese investor is interested in turning the building into a luxury hotel. There is no official announcement yet, but Fosun has already assigned architectural company Piuarch to refurbish and redesign Palazzo Brogi. This Milan-based architectural firm is known for its long-term partnership with Dolce & Gabbana. Piuarch stands behind design of Milan headquarters of Dolce & Gabbana. Moreover, the firm designed and realized over 40 Dolce & Gabbana stores worldwide. This fact only added to the rumors about first hotel of the fashion house.

However, before any changes or agreements are done, Fosun needs to get permission from Milan’s government as turning Palazzo Brogi into a hotel would change its intended use.
