Starwood announced collaboration of its brand W Hotels Worldwide with Coca-Cola Co. and musician will.i.am. Together they will make new branded bed sheets with recycled plastic. The new eco-friendly sheets will appear in guestrooms in W Hotels in North America and soon they will be spread to other hotels around the world.
The new branded sheets are partially made with rPET (polyester with recycled plastic), and it takes around 30 utilized 20 oz. bottles to get enough material for one bed sheet. That means, the company will help utilize 268,000 plastic bottles to produce bed sheets for W Hotels in North America. According to Starwood, guests will not feel any difference when they see new bed sheets. The only difference is the new polyester material used. The new sheets are not the only item made during this collaboration. Soon night stands of hotels will be equipped with new device Mobile Changer and Accessory Valet (MCAV). This is a multi-use device that combines jewelry/watch stand, USB charging and alarm clock. The device is also partially made with recycled plastic with three plastic bottled consumed for each MCAV. The device is available in six colors gold, silver, white, red, pink and black.
If guests like the new products, they are always welcome to purchase them in shops at hotels and at online store of the company.
