Premiere Inn has announced the opening of four more hotels in Scotland. Thanks to the new addition, the rapidly expanding portfolio of the company will be enlarged by almost 400 new guestrooms.
The project includes the opening of hotels in Perth, Stirling, Glasgow Pacific Quay, and St Andrews. The hotel will be opened as a part of the global plan of the company to expand the presence of the Premiere Inn brand from 52,000 to 65,000 guestrooms by 2016. When the hotels start operating, they will create more than 150 new jobs.
The hotel in Glasgow will be a 180-guestroom Premiere Inn accommodation on the bank of the River Clyde. The six-floor building of the hotel will be located just opposite the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and new Hydro Arena. The construction works are to start in the nearest future as the hotel will open in time for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
The hotel in Perth will have 83 guestrooms. It will be a converted hotel, opened in the old Pullar’s Building on Mill Street. The St Andrews accommodation will have 65 guestrooms and will be located on Largo Road. Finally, the property in Stirling will be a 60 guestroom Premiere Inn hotel at Forthside. The hotel will also host Beefeater Grill restaurant.
According to the hotelier, Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, the company will not limit itself to the abovementioned properties in Scotland, and plans to add more hotels in the region despite the fact that Premiere Inn has recently opened hotels in Glasgow and Ayr. Currently, Whitbread develops at a high pace in the UK. Within a year the company created more than 3000 new jobs, and this is just the beginning as the hotelier plans to create additional 10,000 new jobs, expanding its Costa and Premiere Inn brands.
