Watch Inspired Hotel in Venice

These days, it’s hard to amaze modern travellers who seem to get used to quality service and great design, so hotels in many popular tourist destinations try to discover something new and fresh. Sometimes such an ordinary thing as watch can become inspiration for the whole hotel. Even though watch doesn’t seem to be a good starting point for hotel concept, this item inspired Sandro Fratini, the founder of Wtb Hotels Group, to make design for the first Hotel L’Orologio, which was opened in Florence in 2009.

The new hotel in the portfolio continues the theme of the timepiece. The L’O Hotel Orologio in Venice has 50 guestrooms and will get the 4 star rank. Wtb Hotels Group will also open a watch themed hotel in Rome. That property will have 48 guestrooms and is set to open in 2017. The design of the Venice hotel was already unveiled. Here a team of designers from Baciocchi decided to focus on mechanical side of the watch. Watches can be found throughout the hotel as real watches and as patterns and even stylish illuminated pictures in the bedrooms. The watch theme is combined with rich saturated colors and posh details that are typical for Venetian style.

The main theme of the hotel can be clearly seen right from the start – the hotel logo and even the handle of the door feature watch. Even though the use of the timepiece is visible, the design is not heavily loaded with watches, so guests will find the hotel comfortable and very good for rest.
