According to the newest study conducted by Expedia Media Solutions, UK consumers prefer making purchases with their mobile devices, and the mobile market of the country outpaces even the US.
UK consumers in general, and UK travellers in particular, are keen on using mobile devices and are interested in using them for purchases. Currently, in the UK mobile traffic represents 30% of all Internet usage. From them, 18% of traffic comes from smartphones and 12% of traffic comes from tablets. That is bigger than in the US, where only 22% of all Internet usage comes from mobile devices. The number of smartphone users in the UK also outpaces the US while 57% of population in Great Britain owns a smartphone, only 51% people in the US use it. UK travellers are also active users of mobile data 69% of travel content is accessed from mobile devices. That is 11% more than in the US.
Travellers from the UK are among most active users of mobile devices. More than one fourth of travellers bought at least one of components of their last trip using mobile devices. The volume of mobile bookings is also increasing 23% of smartphone owners and 45% of tablet owners say they use or will use their devices to book trips. As many as 90% of smartphone and tablet owners, who made a booking using mobile devices before, say they will do it again.
