Accor has launched a new concept for its meeting rooms called “Business Playground”. The first hotel to have it is the 312-guestroom Pullman London St. Pancras, and steadily the concept will be spread to all Pullman Hotels & Resorts. Next year the hotelier plans to refresh its hotels operating under this brand, and so during the refurbishment meeting rooms will also be adjusted. According to Accor, the main idea of new meeting rooms was “work hard, play hard” the concept of blurring professional and private life. Pullman has always been very popular, especially with corporate segment. Currently, the hotel brand makes up approximately 30% of the total revenue of Accor.
As the senior vice president of Pullman Hotels Xavier Louyot mentions, even though the competition on hotel market can be called nothing but hyper, there is still very low level of differentiation on business hotel level. They are interested in offering something new to business clients and building a base of loyal visitors.
The Pullman “Poker Table” is the key element of the new meeting room concept. This is a large table with fiberglass cover and beige leather edges in the central part of the room. The table is very comfortable during various negotiations and it has a nice feel when putting hands and elbows on it. The Pullman “Canopy Break” is a perfect choice for a more informal meeting. This polyhedron table with comfortable desk chairs is located in a more intimate part of the room, so it has the feel that you are in another place. Finally, the Pullman “Curiosity Boxes” is a set of various objects and wall fixtures that are intended to inspire new ideas. Finally, with Pullman “Business Playground” new meeting rooms come with free water, tea and coffee of various types, and fresh fruit. All guestrooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, video and audio equipment, and multi-socket panels.
