Hamburg is a popular destination for both leisure and business travelers, so there’s no wonder why often its hotels are fully booked. Naturally, this hot market attracts hotel investors, and so 23 more hotels are planned for the city.
The new hotels will be both newly built and converted ones. For example, the former Hamburg headquarter of the BP company will be turned into a hotel. The 18-storey building will be branded by Holiday Inn. This will be the second Holiday Inn hotel in the city. It is already known that the hotel will be developed by two companies Bierwith & Kluth and TAS. Unfortunately, the hotel will start operating no earlier than in the end of 2016 in addition to the old BP building, a new one will be added on its site. The beginning of building works is scheduled for autumn 2014.
Here are some other hotels that are to be built in Hamburg: B&B Hotel Hamburg-Harburg (100 guestrooms, expected to open in March 2014), Sportlife Hotel Othmarschen (280 guestrooms, opening date December 2013), InterCity Hotel Hamburg Dammtor/Messe (275 guestrooms, opening date March 2014), Prizeotel Hamburg-City (218 guestrooms, expected to open in February 2014), Ibis Hotels am Hauptbahnhof (448 guestrooms, expected to open in May 2014), Citadines Michel Hamburg (128 guestrooms, expected to open in the beginning of 2014), Adagio City Aparthotel Hamburg (100 guestrooms, opening date March 2014), Motel One Heiße Ecke (94 guestrooms, expected to open in autumn 2014), and Ameron Hotel Speicherstadt (192 guestrooms, expected to open in June 2014). There are also three hotels that are to open in 2015 (Stadthaushotel HafenCity Hamburg, Ramada Hotel Hamburg-Hammerbrook, and Innside Melia Hamburg HafenCity), and one more hotel expected to open in 2016 (The Westin Hamburg).
