According to the newest survey by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), business travellers are mostly worried about their safety. This parameter was named more important than health, diet, and other things that help them stay productive while on a business trip by 675 European business travellers who participated in the survey.
Safety and security were named the most important factor. 76% of respondents say this is their priority. A little less, 75% of business travellers, say that it is absolutely important for them to stay in touch with their friends and family while they are away. For 65% of respondents the ability to keep a healthy diet is the most important. Finally, 46% name their usual workout a priority during business trips.
The participants of the survey were also asked to tell about their biggest stresses while travelling. While the majority of travellers (85%) say they enjoy business travel, there are factors that cause mush stress to them. For example, delayed air travel was called the most stressful factor by 66% of the survey participants. Long airport layovers and connecting flights were named second and third (49% and 45% respectively). Business travellers also do not like travel not during their normal work hours, for example, at night, in the weekend, or in the morning (44%, 42%, and 40% respectively).
Each year, the number of business travellers who are concerned about environment issues only grows. In 2013, more than a half (58%) say they try to recycle glass, paper, and plastic. 52% of the survey’s respondents say they prefer to select hotels close to their meeting destinations, so they can walk or use public transport, and, therefore, reduce carbon footprint.
