New Whisky Bar in The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh

The Balmoral Hotel, one of the most prominent hotels in Edinburgh, has finally opened its new whisky bar named Scotch. This place will quickly become the most beloved place of gathering for whisky fans as the bar claims to have the largest collection of Scottish whisky in the city! Given that Scotland is home to some of the finest whiskies in the world, it’s safe to say Scotch is one of best bars devoted to the popular spirit.

In Scotch visitors will find over 400 whiskies from different parts of Scotland, such as Speyside, the Highlands, Campbeltown, the Lowlands, the Islands, and Islay. Guests are welcome to order both recently made whiskey and some vintage ones produced in 1940s. Water from the Highlands, Islay, and Speyside will become a perfect complement to the main drink. Main snacks in the bar are smoked almonds, dark Swiss chocolate, and wild boar salami. They complement whiskey flavours the best way. Of course, it is possible to order something more tangible – the bar offers traditional Scottish dishes carefully selected by Chef Jeff Bland. If you are not an expert in whisky, three “whisky ambassadors” will give you their professional advice.

The design of Scotch has been developed by Olga Polizzi, who selected mostly dark colours and natural materials. Guests will surely enjoy tweed sofas and gold/chocolate armchairs, a brass and granite bar, and a handmade whisky cabinet decorated with oak panels.
