This time, Gianni Versace S.p.A. is going to make its debut in China by opening a hotel in Macau.
The casino-hotel on a rapidly developing Cotai Strip on Macau will be opened together with SJM Holdings. The Milan-headquartered company will open a 5-star hotel under its Palazzo Versace brand. The casino resort is expected to open in 2015.
Versace representatives have already expressed their delight with the deal. The company will soon open hotels in Australia and Dubai, and emerging Chinese market is certainly a great place for the luxury brand. Versace hopes to bring its famous interior style to Macau.
The developer of the 2000 guestroom casino resort, SJM Holdings, is a Hong Kong based company that has got a land lease from the Macau government. This is going to be the first project of such a scale for the company. Both the companies hope their partnership will result in a world class resort that will attract visitors from all over the world.
