Melia Hotels, a popular European hotel company, has definitely prepared something new for its clients. Do you like social networks and Twitter in particular? If so, you may like the idea of “Twitter hotel”. Thanks to affiliation with the popular network, Sol Wave House Hotel in Mallorca, Spain, offers new level of interaction.
The program’s core is a virtual community named #SocialWave. It is possible to access it only from the hotel’s Wi-Fi network. You can always get quick response from special Twitter concierges, whose responsibilities are to greet visitors using Twitter and answer their questions and requests. Twitter concierges also engage guests into conversation, helping visitors get acquainted with each other and interact freely. Guests are welcome to chat, share photos, participate in various contests, and even flirt. The hotel’s designers tried to make every corner of the hotel comfortable and engaging visitors into conversations.
There are also two new tags - #TwitterPartySuites and #TwitterPoolParty. The first tag concerns the hotel’s champagne service, 20% discount in bars and restaurants, sports drinks on arrival, VIP hammocks and even a minibar with drinks of your choice. The second tag, #TwitterPoolParty will help you get a free drink at a pool party that takes place every Friday.
Melia explains their new initiative as an attempt to improve customers’ satisfaction. Main clients of the company are young and social people who are open to everything new and are actively engaged in online communication. With the new program Melia hopes to develop a new virtual community.
Sol Wave House hotel in Mallorca was opened just one year ago. The hotel has 184 suites and junior suites. The hotel is equipped with several concert venues and two pools with artificial waves for flowboarding.
