The European country of Macedonia is not a frequent guest on hotel news websites, but, nevertheless, the hotel industry of the country is developing. This time Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of its first hotel under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. The new hotel will be opened in the capital of the country in South Eastern Europe Skopje. The upscale DoubleTree by Hilton Skopje will be opened in accordance with a franchise agreement with Ajdovan Ademoski. The hotel is expected to open in 2016.
The hotelier tells that DoubleTree by Hilton Skopje will be a perfect venue for various conferences and events. Convenient location of the hotel is a definite advantage it is not far from the city centre, and it is very easy to get to the hotel from the international airport. The hotel may also become very popular during exhibitions the main exhibition centre with the space of more than 50,000 sq. m. is also located nearby.
DoubleTree by Hilton Skopje is located on the bank of the Vardar River. The hotel has 172 spacious bedrooms and 20 suites. Thanks to its location, the hotel will fit both leisure and business travellers. The hotel’s facilities include 1,400 sq. m. of event space (two large ballrooms and three meeting rooms), a business centre, a spa and a health club. Dining options of the hotel will be represented by a restaurant, a cafĂ© at the outdoor terrace, and two bars. Health club and spa will have over 900 sq. m. for exercising and workout.
DoubleTree by Hilton is an upscale full-service brand by Hilton Worldwide. The brand is very popular with European travellers, and offers some signature features like warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in. Skopje will certainly attract not only business travellers, but also leisure ones, as the cultural centre of the country is home to such sights as Old Skopje Bazaar, Kale Fortress, Daut Pasha Bath, and Sveti Spas.
