Kempinski Hotels, one of the oldest and most respected European luxury hotel chains, has added one more property to the hotel market of Shanghai. The company has made an agreement with Shanghai Suncuba Co. Ltd. According to the agreement, starting from May 15, 2013, the Gran Melia Shanghai hotel in Pudong has been rebranded as Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai. The new hotel has become the 18th hotel in China by Kempinski.
If counting together with The ONE Executive Suites (the accommodation was opened in 2012 in the district of Puxi), Kempinski has its hotels on both sides of the Huangpu River that crosses Shanghai.
Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai definitely has a great location in the central part of the popular Pudong district Lujiazui. Guests of the hotel will be certainly pleased with great shops, business and entertainment centers located nearby. Moreover, the hotel features stunning views of the Shanghai skyline and the Huangpu River. All most famous sights of Shanghai, such as the Jin Mao Tower, the Pearls Tower, and The Bund are located not far away. It takes approximately 45 minutes to reach the hotel from Pudong and Hongqiao international airports by car.
The newly rebranded hotel has 678 guestrooms, vast majority of which feature beautiful views of the Bund skyline. The size of the rooms depends on their class and ranges from 43 to 245 square meters. Dining facilities are represented by four restaurants and three bars. Here guests will find dishes from Chinese, Italian, Spanish, South American and international cuisine. Business facilities are represented by several meeting rooms. Moreover, business travellers are provided with special services and amenities that will make their stay in the hotel more pleasant.
