Viceroy Hotel Group has announced the building of a luxurious hotel on Palm Jumeirah. Set to open in 2017, Viceroy Dubai will cost US$1 billion, and will mark the company’s debut in Dubai. This will also become the second hotel in the United Arab Emirates by Viceroy, with Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi being the first one.
The Viceroy hotel in Dubai will be a mixed use development owned by SKAI Holdings. The building of the hotel will be made by the company that already built Al Barari Zaya Dubai and Nurai Island in the UAE.
The design of the hotel was developed by Yabu Pushelberg together with NAO Taniyama and Associates. This will be a 481 guestroom hotel with panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. In addition to guestrooms and suites, the hotel will have 221 fully serviced Viceroy Residences.
The hotelier promises that Viceroy hotel on Palm Jumeirah will have gourmet dining venues managed by skilled chefs, a modern spa centre, a beach club, a large 100 meter long swimming pool, various entertainment activities, sports facilities and special facilities for children.
Viceroy spokesman calls this deal a huge milestone in the development of the company and thinks that they have chosen the right time to enter the hotel market of Dubai. For local developer Zaya Dubai this hotel on Palm Jumeirah will be their third project in the UAE.
