Four Seasons to Open Its First Hotel in Spain

News Four Seasons comes to Spain and will open its first hotel in Madrid. The luxury hotel located in a beautiful historic building will be opened together with Inmobiliaria Espacio and Grupo OHL. The hotel is reported to be open within next four years.

Four Seasons tries to open its luxury hotels in historic buildings in main cities of Europe. The company’s officials state that they have been thinking about a hotel in Madrid for a long time, but it took time to find reliable partners and the right location.

The new hotel in Madrid by Four Seasons will occupy not one, but a series of historic buildings in a picturesque part of the city. All the buildings make out the Canalejas complex that features simple and fast access to all main landmarks of Madrid. The complex has entrances on several streets, such as Sevilla Street, Canalejas Square, Alcala Street, and Carrera de San Jeronimo. The complex will include not only a hotel, but a social and business center that may become a popular gathering place for both locals and tourists. The hotel, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, will have 215 spacious guestrooms and a block with luxury serviced residences. The territory will also include a shopping center and a parking lot for 500 vehicles. The construction works will start already this year.

The main investor, Grupo Villar Mir, will invest as many as 500 million euro into this project through its subsidiaries Grupo OHL and Inmobiliaria Espacio. The complex will also have a positive impact on the economy of the city as it will create 3,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Four Seasons Historic Hotels is a portfolio of luxury hotels in Europe that are located in buildings from the 15th to the 20th centuries. The portfolio includes hotels in most famous tourist destinations, such as Paris, Budapest, Istanbul, Milan, St. Petersburg, etc.
