InterContinental Group (IHG), a famous hotel company, has signed a management agreement, according to which IHG and Arcadia Hotelbetriebs GmbH will open five hotels in Germany and Austria. The majority of new properties will be operating under the Holiday Inn Express brand.
Arcadia is one of new strategic partners of IHG, and both the companies hope to develop hotels in key markets of the two countries.
The first hotel, which is to open according to the new collaboration, will be the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Osnabruck. The newly built accommodation will be distinguished by a very beneficial location at the corner of Pottgraben and Niedersachsenstrasse the central part of the city close to the main railroad station. The property is to be launched in the first half of 2014. The hotel will have 152 guestrooms and two large conference rooms.
The locations of some other hotels have been also revealed. Arcadia has concluded franchise agreements for the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Gutersloh, the Holiday Inn hotel in Munich, and the Holiday Inn hotel in Salzburg.
Both the companies have already expressed their delight with this partnership, and expect to continue it in order strengthen their positions and enable future expansion in the region. By the way, IHG has a well-developed network of hotels in the country. Its German portfolio encounters 69 hotels that mostly operate under the Holiday Inn brand. There are additional 14 hotels in Germany in the pipeline.
