Ascott to Open a Hotel in Surabaya

News The Ascott Limited has announced the opening of its first serviced residence in Surabaya, Indonesia. The company has concluded a management contract, according to which Ascott is to open Ascott Waterplace Surabaya in 2014.

This is going to be the third property by Ascott in the city as the company already has Somerset Surabaya Hotel & Services Residence and Citadines Marvell Surabaya. The new complex will include 181 serviced apartments, and its opening has a big importance for the company – it will make Ascott the largest serviced residence operator in Indonesia with more than 2200 apartments offered in 10 apartment complexes.

According to the managing director of Ascott, they see a tremendous growth potential in the region and plan to expand their network despite their leading position. Indonesia is the largest economy of Southeast Asia, and the country attracted the investment of S$7.2 billion in the third quarter of 2012. As the business of the country develops, more hotel rooms and serviced apartments will be needed. Surabaya is the second largest city in Indonesia and one of its main seaports, so its growing commercial importance is hard to underestimate. Ascott Waterplace Surabaya will offer luxurious accommodation and personalized services for both domestic and international visitors.

Ascott will open its new serviced apartments complex together with Pakuwon Group, one of the largest developers in the country. The complex will be located in Pakuwon Indah, a township project that will contain department stores, a supermarket, Cineplex, and other facilities. The 32-strorey building will offer apartments with one-, two-, and three bedrooms. Each apartment will come with a kitchen, a working place, and a living area, and will be equipped with various amenities and Wi-Fi Internet.
