Chapter Hotels now have their second property open. This is the magnificent Magdalen Chapter hotel in Exeter, England. The hotel features a wonderful blend of new and old, of history and technology.
The Magdelan Chapter occupies a beautiful building constructed in the 19th century. Previously the building was used as the West England Eye Hospital. Thanks to efforts of architects that building was turned into a 59-guestroom hotel.
The design of the building will bring you back to Victorian times, but inner decoration of the hotel is quite the opposite. Guests will see modern art and urban furniture. Lightning, which was made by Russell Pinch, is very interesting in this hotel and helps making public places really bright.
The design of guestrooms includes oak flooring and walls are made various tones to help the hotel look even more modern.
The hotel’s lounge zone is also very interesting. It has large floor-to-ceiling windows and a huge terrace, where guests will enjoy sculptural chairs, floral murals and interesting lights. The heart of the building hides the bar. Here guests will find cozy atmosphere with an open fire. There is also an installation by glass artist Kate Maestri. Guests are also welcome to visit the library that is made in silver tones and is illuminated by large windows that face the south. Dining facilities of the hotel are also worth your attention. The restaurant has an unusual circus-top ceiling. Guests are also welcome to have their food on a terrace. The Magdalen Chapter has been also equipped with a new indoor-outdoor pool that is warmed by an open fire.
