According to the data provided by TRI Hospitality Consulting, hotels in Munich were among the best performers in May 2012. This has become possible thanks to many factors and the final of the UEFA 2012 Championship League.
RevPAR of Munich accommodations added 21.3% in May, and the average room rate was increased by 23.7% (€160.58). The increase of gross operating profit in May estimated €73.46. This is 21.9% higher comparing to the same month of the previous year. To sum it up, in May the total profit per room of hotels in Munich was 4.4% higher than during the same month a year ago.
Another successful result was achieved by another German city, Dusseldorf. Hotels in Dusseldorf topped the list of European cities with highest year-to-year growth. One of reasons for this was Messe Dusseldorf, a large print and publishing annual event that attracts approximately 40,000 visitors. Because of this the growth of profit per room estimated 22.8% to €98.55. Such a huge growth has become possible because of a serious rise in the average room rates of 21.2%. This helped to increase RevPAR by 14.7% to €136.71. This is approximately 85% more comparing to the 12-month average of €73.91.
