This August Four Seasons is to open a hotel in Guangzhou. The new accommodation will occupy 30 floors from the 103-storey International Finance Center.
The design of the building is the result of work of the London-based firm Wilkinson Eyre. The building of the centre reminds of a three-sided vase made of steel and concrete. Two of the three sides face the Pearl River delta, and the remaining one provides panoramic looks of the city’s business part and old centre.
Four Seasons Guangzhou will have 344 guestrooms and 42 suites, and will start at the 70th floor. The designers of the hotel were inspired by the traditional Chinese culture, so they put dragon and cloud motifs throughout the hotel. The hotel’s express elevator is an interesting creation itself. The elevator is decorated with onyx fantastic. This is a red stone that can change its color depending on the angle of view. The stone symbolizes the breath of a dragon. Premium rooms of the hotel are equipped with unusual triangular bathtubs that resemble the design of the building.
The hotel will have signature Hua Spa with 6 treatment rooms and 3 VIP treatment rooms, a steam room, a private shower, large floor-to-ceiling windows, and special areas for men and women. The area for females will have a laconium, a Vichy-style shower, a crystal steam room, and a mud chamber. Male guests will be offered to try an ice fountain, Finnish and Swedish sauna, and a herbal steam bath.
The 99th floor is the location of Trian Bar, and the 100th floor will be the most favorite place of seafood lovers. There is also Caffe Mondo with Italian inspired cuisine and the Atrium Bar with a wide choice of snacks. The hotel’s restaurants are Yu Yue Heen, which mainly serves Cantonese food, and Kumoi headed by Michelin-starred chef Kazumi Sawada.
