TRI Hospitality has published the latest data for September. According to it 7 out of 10 European main cities feature growing recovery. The company has registered the growth of both TRevPAR and GOPPAR for those markets. Only hotels in Berlin, Zurich and Brussels showed a slight fell.
Hotels in Amsterdam show great potential and continuous growth. Here GOPPAR level increased by as much as 16.7% in September. The complete growth for August 2010 – September 2011 is truly tremendous – 26.6%.
After quite a weak performance in August hotels in London keep increasing their profitability in September. Here the growth of TRevPAR estimated 6.4% and the growth of GOPPAR – 10.5%. The reason for this is also in the increased rates for commercial sectors.
Paris accommodations have stayed almost on the same level featuring the growth of GOPPAR of just 1.6%. As you can see, the increase of profit is quite small despite growing revenues (RevPAR here estimated 6.0%). This fact highlights the increase of operating costs.
However, most popular European capitals are far away from hotels in Warsaw and Vienna. Here GOPPAR grew by 20.8% and 30.0% respectively. This has become possible due to increase of the rooms’ rates and various corporate and conference events. Other cities, such as Barcelona or Milan, also improve their figures.
However, there’s no wonder why September has been successful for the majority of the European cities. This month is traditionally successful due to the increased volume of the corporate demand.
