Soon guests of the Netherlands will be able to have rest in a new unusual hotel in Amsterdam. Amsterdam conservatory, which is famous for its 110-year-old-history, will be turned into a hotel.
The 5-star Conservatorium Hotel will have 128 rooms may start operating already November 11, 2011. The interior design of the hotel is developed by the By Lissoni design firm, who has worked in conjunction with Tel Aviv-headquartered Alrov Group. The new accommodation is located in Oud Zuid neighborhood, which is also famous by the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Stedelijk.
The main designer of this hotel, Piero Lissoni, has tried to mix “old” and “new” and combine them organically in order to create a unique atmosphere and unleash the true beauty of this place. For this purpose Lissoni has chosen various shades of grey, demure fabrics, and some bright accents. This hybrid of contemporary chic and modernist designs is perfect for this spacious building with lots of daylight.
The hotel will also have a spa and a fitness club though Akasha. In order not to spoil the original building large fitness and spa facilities (1,000 sq. m.) have been divided into 4 parts, representing 4 elements. ‘Fire’ part is dedicated to fitness and gym. Here visitors will also find aerobics and training sessions. ‘Water’ is for spa, hammam, aroma therapies, and more. ‘Earth’ will be a lounge zone with healthy food, and ‘Air’ is for calming yoga, meditation, tai-chi, and Pilates.
