Israel based company Fattal Hotel Management Ltd. has decided to change the category of two hotels in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem that are in property of this organization. After renovation the hotels will also change their names as Fattal will launch them under a luxury brand name Herods Palace, so the two hotels from the organization’s portfolio will be opened under the new name after renovation. The company plans to rebuild Leonardo Plaza Tel Aviv, investing US$16.5 into renovation. The second property, that is destined to be changed into a luxury hotel-boutique, is Leonardo Plaza Dead Sea hotel in Jerusalem. Here modernization will be even more large-scale as renovation costs estimate US$100 million.
The main theme of the Jerusalem-based hotel is not yet selected, but there are already news concerning Leonardo Plaza Tel Aviv, or Herods Palace Hotel Tel Aviv, as it will be named after the renovation. This 330-key hotel in Israel will be designed in “art deco” style. The designers were inspired by “Tel Aviv of yore”, making not only décor, but even staff uniform stylized in 1930s.
Fattal, that has been ranked 76th in the list of the largest hotel companies in the world in 2010, already owns a 50% of stakes of Herods Palace Hotel in Eilat. The stakes were purchased from Azorim Tourism Ltd. in 2009. Fattal representatives mention they have plans on concentrating on the Herods Palace brand.
